University of Eastern Africa, Baraton
University dignitaries present at the Opening Ceremonies for the study. In Kenya, they are quite formal there and our even will likely have one also.
The county Health Minister, Ruth Koech, came for the event and is very instrumental in giving this a larger reach in the end. Her masters degree was obtained in the USA.
Diana Michura, Mrs. Universe, Kenya, was also a guest of an honor.
The registration table for the study was manned by enthusiatic young men.
Baraton U has a REALLY NICE radio station in the rear recesses of the library. I was truely impressed.
Professor Jackie Obey (in green headdress) had us over for lunch after church.
The two men in this pic are brothers. They and their wives are all professors at UEAB.
Vice Chancellor Professor Philip Mayio and his family entertained us for dinner in the midst of his very busy schedule.
After church the 3rd weekend I was there I was swarmed by children who wanted a picture with me. The children there are sooooo well mannered. You know what I discovered happened most often? Older brothers and sisters would ask for an autographed card for their younger sibling who wasn't there. Humbling.
Professor Jackie Obey PhD is so helpful, responsible, smart, and fun I feel very honored to have her assistance in this venture and her friendship. I love you, Jackie.
